Finding Abstraction Workshop
Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 September 2019

This Finding Abstraction Workshop is organized and developed by the ArtisTTable founders, Tali Farchi and Royce Deans as a way to help artists be more expressive in their work and to be able to understand and access abstraction.

During the last 12 years, we, Tali and Royce have been creating art projects around the world and spreading our passion for art and art-making. We developed this specific workshop especially for our ArtisTTable community as a part our art retreat programming. It has received so much positive and exciting response wherever it has been presented in the USA, Israel, France, and in the Netherlands.

We want to invite you to take part and see how you can find “the abstract” from various ports of entry. You will learn that by working in the way we will present to you from music, to the figure, through collaboration and other artwork, that you be able to find, understand and use abstraction in your own work going forward in profound ways.

This two day workshop is separated into segments that will each focus on these different ways of accessing abstraction. The results of these workshops show time and time again that it is within the ability of every artist to find inspiration from any subject, and by freeing your imagination you can create genuine abstract artistic statements that are authentic and completely original.

Day 1 – Muse & Usability

Muse & Usability™ is an ArtisTTable original. This exercise is designed as an experience to further the artist’s response to his/her surroundings and to discover that inspiration can truly be found anywhere and in everything. Artists will come to know that commonplace objects, occurrences, and subject matter that may not have been considered as even interesting, can be wonderful jumping-off places for creations of art. Another surprising and unexpected inclusion of this workshop is collaboration, and how receiving input from others, you can make intensely personal and original art that never would have otherwise been possible.

Muse & Usability™ is an exercise/training workshop that will give you the opportunity to find your own artistic way to abstraction and to grow when you work with and to hear the artist next to you.
